Laboratory Ovens

CONTROLS' Ovens are essential for the precise specimen preparation and condition of constructions materials such as cement, concrete, asphalt, bitumen, rock, soil, and aggregate in civil engineering testing facilities. When processing samples for materials testing, maintaining a uniform and consistent temperature is critical to ensure consistency and repeatability of results.

The laboratory drying oven is designed to remove moisture from the oven chamber as quickly as possible so the specimens can be dried. The drying oven process introduces fresh dry air into the chamber while simultaneously expelling warm moist air, enabling the specimens to dry quickly.

The internal and external walls of CONTROLS’ Laboratory Drying Ovens are zinc-coated steel, insulated with mineral wool, and have a stainless steel front frame and access door. This design is not only long-lasting but also ensures that heat is evenly distributed and stable, leading to uniform and consistent specimen drying and conditioning. Safety and user comfort are main priorities – our ovens are now shallower, making them safer to load and unload.

laboratory oven is designed to eliminate moisture from the oven chamber as rapidly as possible in order to dry the specimens. The drying oven technique provides fresh dry air into the chamber while simultaneously expelling warm damp air, allowing the samples to dry quickly.

CONTROLS’ laboratory ovens models are produced with full stainless steel internal and external linings, 60 mm thick insulation, fast heat up, easy to read digital control, and forced convection airflow for uniform temperature throughout the oven chamber, making them ideal for soil, aggregates, and asphalt testing. All ovens are inspected to ensure that they meet the required standards.

Laboratory Drying Ovens - L, H and Q Series Selector

Three series are available specifically designed for civil engineering testing laboratories

Standards ASTM D1559 ASTM C127 ASTM D698 ASTM D558 ASTM D1557 BS 1924:1 EN 932-5 EN 1097-5 ASTM C136 ASTM D559 ASTM D560 ASTM E145

Laboratory Drying Ovens
Main Features

Our Laboratory Drying Ovens have been specifically designed for civil engineering testing laboratories and are invaluable for the precise sample preparation and conditioning of construction materials, such as cement, concrete, asphalt, bitumen, rock, soil and aggregate. Maintaining an even and regular temperature is essential when preparing samples for materials testing as it ensures consistency and repeatability of results.

The ovens feature forced convection airflow with base-positioned fans for excellent air and temperature distribution. Temperature control from ambient to 200°C (L & H Series) and 300°C, (for Q series) is regulated via a thermoregulator with digital display. Our ovens are all equipped with mechanical safety thermostats that prevent overheating.

L and H Series ovens benefit from strong zinc-coated steel internal and external walls, insulated with mineral wool and stainless steel front frame and access door. This sturdy construction is not only durable but, importantly, ensures that heat is stable and evenly distributed, delivering uniform and consistent sample drying and conditioning. Safety and user-comfort are also paramount — now shallower, our ovens are safe and easier to load and unload.

Q Series, same as H Series completaly made from stainless steel, this series includes also the “Deluxe” 780 liter capacity model internally made from stainless steel and “linen patterned” stainless steel outer, stronger still.

Each shelf supports 30/40 kg evenly distributed

 Three series are available:

  • L Series: general purpose entry models with 100, 250 and 450 liters capacity.
  • H Series: high precision models conforming to main International Standards, including the “9 point control test”. Also available with 100, 250 and 450 liters capacity
  • Q Series: Premium range, features as H Series but completely made it of stainless steel. Q Series Ovens have a a hole in the upper part to facilitate the access of probes to check the internal/sample temperatures.

All models are standard supplied complete with two extractable grid shelves.
