Motorized Horizontal Sample Extruder
Hydraulic Horizontal Sample Extruder ejects undisturbed soil samples from full-size thin-walled samplers (Shelby Tubes) in one stroke. It is used in sample preparation for a variety of soil tests including triaxial, permeability, direct shear, consolidation, unconfined compression, and more in combination with soil lathe and trimmer. The smooth, easily controlled piston stroke permits easy handling and rapid processing of samples. The extruder can apply up to 70 kN of force to eject even stubborn samples. The hydraulic system precisely controls the horizontally mounted piston. The unit comes with a sample receiving trough to ensure minimal disturbance while ejecting and logging samples.
Adaptors have to be ordered separately.

This apparatus is used to prepare any size of cylindrical soil sample:
– Specimen lathe function: from dia. 35×70 mm to dia. 100×220 mm

The apparatus which can be used either as a trimmer or as a sampler consists of:
- A rotating round base with reference guide where the specimen is placed;
- A vertical threaded rod actuated by a wheel knob, whose purpose is to regulate the vertical height of the specimen and to maintain it in position during trimming operations;
- Two vertical lateral rod which are used as reference guides far the trimming saw;
- An adjustable rod fitted to graduate slide which is used to check and set the diameter of soil sample
- Adapter for grubbing the sample (100, 70mm) during lathing
- Adapter for grubbing the sample (50, 38, 35mm) during lathing

Various circular, cylindrical and square cutters are available from our range, depending on the geotechnical test to be performed. Extruder 01
The hand operated vertical extruder ejects undisturbed and/or compacted soil specimens from sampling tubes and moulds. It is used in sample preparation for a variety of soil tests including:

The extruder comes with a series of additional tools, such as a manual hydraulic pump, that can be set up to provide a comfortable working position during the extruding procedure. The 70 kN capacity extruder applies smooth piston strokes to samples making sure that even the most stubborn of them can be easily handled and quickly ejected.
Additional optional accessories are available to convert your extruder to a horizontal set-up.
Please note that adaptors must be ordered separately. If you don’t find the adapter kit suitable for your moulds/sampling tubes, you can request to have them custom-made to the correct size.
