This robust versatile machine is ideal for field where it is necessary to core at any angle. The extension columns (see accessories) permit the holding at a maximum vertical or horizontal distance of 3850 mm. The rack feed (drilling excursion) is 1000 mm long.
The core bits, strap wrench and extension columns, are not part of the machine and have to be ordered separately. See accessories.
The core bits we propose have fixed standard coupling assuring the best alignment, fast and easy fitting and disassembling. See accessories.

Description

 

The machine is composed by three main parts:

  • Electric motor speed reducer
  • Light alloy base with adjustable feet, and wheels
  • Support column

These three parts can be easily assembled and disassembled for transportation. The support steel column can be angled with respect to the base. The motor support is mounted on rollers and ball bearings. The aluminium base can be easily fit on site by anchors, by suitable holding column or by vacuum using the appropriate accessory (see accessories). The machine can be used at any angle within the horizontal position by the appropriate fixing making sure that flushing water does not drop directly onto the motor . For internal use we suggest the machine is fit with a water collector system (see accessories, 83-C0350/5 Water collecting ring).
We propose other models of coring machines: Universal heavy duty model (see \#universal-core-drilling-machine\#) and for asphalt coring (see \#pavement-core-drilling-machine\#).

Description

 

This universal saw, completed with the suitable accessory, can be used to cut concrete, asphalt and rock cores, and irregular rock samples in order to obtain geometrically defined samples. It can be fit with 300 to 450 mm dia. blades.
The head is adjustable in height. The tilting motor head permit cuts up to 45° inclination. The tank and the trolley are zinc plated to avoid corrosion. Complete with water pump for cooling the blade and double filtering system.

Description

 

Standard cutting machines in the market are standard saws for field use in the building industry. They do not assure the rigidity and stability to obtain precisely specimens for laboratory use. For this reason, we have designed and produced the specific requirements of the relevant Standards and consequently of the Research and Central laboratories. 

Multisaw  is a universal sawing system for fast, accurate cutting of beams from prisms and for trimming cylinders. An easy-to-use spacer system sets the specimen position and allows beams or cores to be cut without the need for measurement. The saw blade advances and retracts to the home position by a user-friendly hand wheel.

The Multisaw includes the multislab jig, complete with table and manual clamping device for slabs. Cores at the desired length. It can be fitted with 650 mm dia. blade with a maximum cutting depth of 200 mm and prism length of 500 mm (extendable to 700 mm, on request).

The Multisaw allows an easy-to-use sawing system for the Four-Point Bending Beam tests, Two Point Bending Beam tests, TSRST, Texas Overlay Test, Prall Test, Semi-Circular Bend Test, Wheel Tracking Tests with large and small devices, or any concrete beam or cylinder. The system allows cylindrical cores with diameters from 100 to 150 mm, and 200 mm dia. to be quickly and accurately cut to different lengths from 10 to 300 mm.

The Multisawcan be used as part of your  Superpave performance based  testing  program.

Grinding machine (55-C0201/B)
Description

 

Used to grind and polish concrete specimens, natural stones, ceramic materials, etc.  Proposed in two versions:

  • 55-C0201/B standard version in which the lateral displacement of the grinding head is motor operated and actuated by a push button.
  • 55-C0201/C Automatic version in which the lateral displacement is fully automatic and controlled by travel limit switches.

All the other characteristics are identical.
The cube and cylinder specimens can be easily locked on the table and the grinding head, 330 mm dia., can be laterally moved either manually or automatically in both directions so, the only manual operation requested is the lowering of the grinding head by the top hand wheel. The machine is supplied complete with safety chip guard that, when removed, stop automatically the machine, with coolant tank, motor pump and one set of abrasive sectors. Diamond grinding sectors are available on request (see accessories). The machine is supplied complete with clamping element for 100, 150 and 200 mm cubes. Clamping devices for cylinders and device for dry grinding procedure are also available on request (see accessories). The 45-D0534/B and 45-D0534/C  Core face preparation jigs can be easily fitted by the clamping element supplied with the machine.

Description

 

Introduction
When testing concrete cylinder specimens it is essential that the two ends are perfectly flat. This range of equipment allows the ends of the various sizes of concrete cylinders or cores to be capped using the sulphur capping compound.

Cylinder cappers
Used to assure plane end surfaces perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder during the capping. Base and capping plate machined from steel. Guide is machined from cast aluminium or steel.

Cylinder carriers
A simple accessory for an easy handling of specimens. Only available for dia. 150 mm (6”x12”9 and 160×320 mm sizes.

Capping compound
The compound is a mixture of sulphur and mineral filler to give a high finish and performance.

Melting pot
Used to melt the capping compound. The temperature is set and maintained at the desired value. Adjustable electronic thermoregulator and pilot lamp fully isolated conforming to CE requirement.

Description
 
The PReSBOX® provides the latest in asphalt speciment preparation and mix evaluation technology. PReSBOX® produces high quality asphalt prisms from which beams and cylinders with excellent air voids distribution, homogeneity and particle orientation can be cut. The unique shearing action of the PReSBOX® closely replicates the conditions under which asphalt is placed in the field and produces specimens with excellent homogeneity and volumetic properties, giving an exceptional measure of workability. The PReSBOX® also provides an accurate measure of the workability (relative effort required for compaction) of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) needed in the field to achieve a target void content. The PReSBOX® Shearbox Compactor features a PC interface for user entry of compaction parameters, and provides a real-time graphic display of data, e.g. specimen height, vertical stress and air voids per cycle.

Description

 

This method is used as alternative to the sulphur hot capping of concrete cylinder specimens. The system consist of two alloy steel cap retainers and two 12.5 mm thick neoprene pads which are in contact with the upper and lower concrete surfaces. The pads even out irregularities, distributing the test load uniformly to ensure reliable strength results. Pads are reusable for many tests.

Important note
The total thickness of capping retainers and neoprene pads for dia. 150 mm (6”) specimens is 50-55 mm which has to be added to 300 or 6” specimen height summing to 355 mm approx. Verify the vertical clearance of your compression tester before testing and, in case of difficulty, get in touch with our service dept. to find a solution.
