Flash Point

Brass cup mounted on the electric heater
The flash point is the lowest temperature at which a flame causes the vapors from a material to catch fire, as a flash, under specific test conditions. The lower the flash point temperature, the higher the susceptibility of the material to catch fire. In other words, the higher the flash point temperatures, the safer the material. The most common flash point methods for binders are Tag Closed Cup test, Cleveland Open Cup test and Pensky-Martens Closed Cup test.
